Wired Around the World
In this section we hope to compile information from sources around the world about the finer points of wire type, temperament, hunting style, coat type, climate resistance, pedigree examinations, health, and nutrition.

A brief introduction to our Spanish representative, breeder/owner/handler and huntsman- Mr. Arturo Garcia Sanchez
Arturo's first interaction with the breed was through the traditional means of hunting. A friend of his father owned a pair that accompanied them on their hunting journeys. Mr. Sanchez had fallen in love at first sight of this amazing, workable yet beautiful breed. After a long wait he was able to purchase his first pair for hunting, a dog and a bitch. His interest in conformation was peaked when he entered his bitch in his first dog show, and won. The rest is history.
He now has a goodly sized kennel of dogs under the prefix- la Sierra de Avila , translated to 'the Mountain range of Avila- that excel both in the show ring, and perform what comes naturally to them; hunt. Arturo has imported dogs from around Spain to his kennel, and recently has begun exporting quality show dogs to help broaden the genetic diversity of Ibizans world wide.
